Few days late – Maison des Arts (Art House)

Not much to say… this place was beautiful. More photos of the outside when I return home. For now here are some pix from the show. Cool, place and cool people.

A day off…

Ok, we played the show at the big auditorium, but what we found out just 2 hours before the show was they double booked, kinda… there was a free DJ right next door, and our cover was 10€. So instead of the 200 to 300 we were hoping for, we only got about 50. But they were apologetic, and our guarantee was higher than what we brought in. A little disappointing, but it could have been worse. Also the extreme cold is really messing with my strings. it was pretty frustrating last night…

So tonight, I really took the time to love on Scarlett (my new guitar, not some french woman) and she gave me less trouble. Man she really sounds good too. And tonight’s show was a lot of fun. a cool club, good crowd, really nice club owner. Below are some photos taken by Seb (Sebastian) who says he’ll come to another show of ours and video tape it.

More in a day or two…

Playing the ski stations

So we’ve played a couple more shows since the last post, about to play the 4th. The second wasn’t great… I jumped into a door jamb and got a big knot on my head. BUT the 3rd show was a lot of fun, it was a small rum bar at a high-end ski station, but we had the 20-30 people there jumpin’ !!

Now we play our 4th at a pretty good sized auditorium (seats 400-500)… we’ll see how close we come to filling all the seats.

Below are 2 photos, both from today. The first is a pic of me and the guys. (Left -Right: Yaume, Fredo, Alex, Oliv’) The second is a photo I took from the van this afternoon. Friggin’ beautiful !!!

More soon… Hopefully with good news about tonights show.

Le Poulpe – The First Gig (of ten)

Here are some photos from the first gig. The first set was a little rough due to some technical issues, but we overcame on the second set and really kicked butt… The club was totally at capacity. maybe 250-300 people!! (you’ll have to take my word for it, because the photos are only of the band) =)

Before the tour – Rehearsals

So I arrived in France a few days ago and we have had 3 solid days of rehearsals (minus the obligatory 3 hour French lunches) =)

So below are some photos with my friends. One friend (Jean-Noel) who is not pictured asked his girl friend to take photos at our rehearsal last night and our first show tomorrow. I do not have those yet, but I saw them and they are very nice. I’ll post them what I get them.

a bientot !
