New Album “Slow Burning” OUT NOW!!

Fusing funk, soul, and jazz with a little old-school blues and rock, Alex Henley’s latest project is a rich and deeply personal journey through his years as a musician.

“Slow Burning represents music from every songwriting period of my life,” Henley shares. “It’s a reflection of my evolving relationship with music—each track marks a different chapter, a different moment that’s stayed with me.”

This album features some of Henley’s most expressive and dynamic work to date. Standout track “Big Talker” is both nostalgic and new, pulling from old influences such as Prince and Freddie King, but with a modern flare.

Alex Henley & the Exchange

Alex Henley’s music doesn’t fit neatly into a single genre box – and that’s kind of the point. He leans into the syncopated pulse of funk, the vulnerability of soul, the interplay of jazz, and the grit of blues/rock. This is a blend that feels lived-in and familiar, the product of years spent absorbing different musical styles and weaving it all into something of his own.

Over the years, he has had the honor of sharing the stage with some of Austin’s most iconic and emerging artists, including local legend Soul Man Sam, the soulful Ray Prim, powerhouse Australian blues guitarist Karl Morgan, and genre-bending artist Denitia Odigie. He’s also been accompanied by France’s The French Bastards, and sat in with UK’s Dr Feelgood. His collaborative spirit and ability to adapt across genres have made him an easy fit in Austin’s vibrant music scene.
